One of the questions asks for some of the things that you've done in the past 25 years that you think no one would have ever imagined you doing 25 years ago. Not looking for bragging here--but things your OLD CLASSMATES would never have imagined! Little sound-bites or "bit-o'-facts". These may come in handy at the Reunion for a little comic relief! |

Occupation: Senior Financial Analyst
Marital Status: Committed Relationship Spouse/Partner name:: Ray Number of miles you live from Hville?: 5 What have you been doing for 25 years?: Let’s see…I have worked at Honeywell 23 years…I volunteer at my church and have done their payroll for several years…I also started a catering business about 4 years ago. Actually, I have catered the last two Harrisonville High School proms at Arrowhead (That has been a blast!!) I have been seeing a wonderful guy (Ray) for a really LONG time (and yes, we plan to marry, but what's the rush). I started being ‘stepmom’ to Ray's son Tyler when he was 11 and he just turned 21 and is now a junior at Missouri Southern. We used to do all the baseball and football activities with Tyler, but now we're on our own so we go to Chiefs games and we do quite a bit of traveling. Not to be a downer, but the day after my 40th birthday (as if that wasn’t traumatic enough) I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. So now I'm a big supporter of Cass County Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society! About a year after that, I sold my house in town and did something I said I would never do - I moved out to the country. And surprisingly, I absolutely love it! I really consider myself extremely blessed in this life – I currently have my health, a good job, the greatest friends, and I’m just loving life right now! |

Occupation: Information Technology
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Spouse/Partner name:: Stacey Number of miles you live from Hville?: 7 "One-liners" that no one would have thought possible about you 25 years ago!: I am NOT a music teacher...I have a 2-year-old granddaughter...I am a huge Chiefs fan--17 years as a season-ticket holder...I have evolved into a computer geek...I do NOT own any clothing with alligators or horses embroidered on them. What have you been doing for 25 years?: Here's the Cliff's Notes version of the Cliff's Notes version: After earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music, I started teaching 7-12 vocal and music theory in Harlan, Iowa. After three years, I realized that the career in education I had spent 6 years of my life preparing for was not what I dreamed of. The next closest marketable skill I had was an aptitude for computers, and started working in Information Technology. Not having a formal education in computers was a bit of a hindrance, but I discovered that the analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills I had learned in college (and at HHS) came in very handy. After spending some time with some small consulting companies, I spent five years at Sprint, and six years with Ascend Media as a programmer/project manager. I currently am the technology lead for a property management company in North Kansas City. I have been married to Stacey for 11 years, and have three step-children, ages 18, 20, and 22. The youngest two are in college, and the oldest is married with a newborn and a two-year-old. That makes me...a GRANDFATHER! To feed my passion for music, I am Minister of Music at First Christian Church of Independence, conducting the adult choir and coordinating special music events. |

What have you been doing for 25 years?: John and I have been happily married for almost 24 years. We have 3 kids Jessica 22 (married and going to school at UMKC, majoring in History)Rachel age 20 (soon to be engaged to a young man in the youth ministry) Joel 18 (a senior in high school)We started building houses in 1983 and rentals in 1996. We are starting to wind down that chapter in our lives as we take on a new challenge of serving God in the Amazon Region of Brazil. We are very active in our local church.(Freeman, Baptist) We like to travel, camp in the mountains of Colorado, water and snow ski,and play games as a family. From Dorcas: The best thing that ever happened to me was when I was 21 years old. I was sitting in church and our pastor was telling a story of how this farmer's enemy planted weeds in with the farmer's wheat. The farmer couldn't tell the difference until it was time to harvest. He stopped and said...some of you may be sitting in this church looking like a Christian, trying to act like a Christian but deep down you have never given your life to Christ. I thought he was speaking directly to me as I started to squirm in my seat. He said, "If anyone doesn't know where they would go if they died today I would like to help you make sure. Are any of you out there like I was? Are you just going through the actions? If so I would love to share with you how God changed my life. I don't push Christianity on anyone..we all have to make that choice where we want to spend eternity, and it is ALL up to YOU! |
